Johnny Dale Taylor

January 7, 1959 — September 19, 2020

Johnny “JT” Dale Taylor passed away on September 19, 2020.  He was born on January 7, 1959, in Dallas, Texas.

Most of you knew him as JT but, his “Loves” were blessed to call him Pop!

He grew up in Pleasant Grove, Texas, and attended Spruce High School. He graduated High School with his journeyman license in plumbing and went on to become a Master Plumber. On April 29, 2000, Pop married his best friend and the love of his life, Kay Yaws Taylor. They were in the process of building their retirement home in Mabank, Texas. He was so excited to build this for his “One True Love” Kay and himself. He worked for Brandt for the past 8 years, and he loved his work family and talked about them all the time. If you knew Pop, then you know he wasn’t just an ordinary man, he was very special and one of a kind. He was a very simple, but honest man. He was a member of Beacon Church of Christ in Gun Barrel City, Texas. The passion and love for the Lord, family, friends, outdoors, hunting, fishing and music were so touching. He loved sitting outside on the porch and this is where we were blessed to have him share so much of his knowledge and made so many memories. He loved all of his family and friends and had such an impact on all of us. However, all of us kids knew Pop had his favorite “Love” and that was “Max.”  Max, or as he often called him “Maxie,” was his best friend, sidekick, and hunting buddy.  Everyone that knew Pop knows how pure, kind, and loving his heart was, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his wife of 20 years Kay; mother Joan; children Andrea and husband Chris, Kimberly and husband Aaron, and Christopher and wife Jessica; grandchildren Kayle and husband John, Clayton, Cordell, Colton, Emily, Brooklynn and husband Zachary, Christian, Skylar, SaVannah, Kevin, Kensley, and Jackson; great-grandchildren Emma, MaKenzie, Lilly, and Oakleigh; and nieces Alyssa and Brittany.

JT is preceded in death by his grandmother Katie George; and brother Gary Bodin.
