Jerrell Allen Smith

Jerrell Allen Smith of Payne Springs, Texas passed away on July 16, 2017.  He was born April 13, 1938 in Payne Springs, Texas to Thomas Edward & Johnnie Bell Jenkins Smith.  Jerrell grew up with 1 sister; Marie Lonsford & her husband William “Pete” and 5 bothers; Tom Billy Smith, Jackie Smith, Don Smith, Rex Smith and Mike Smith.

Jerrell was in the graduating class of 1956 at Eustace High School.  There was never a job that he couldn’t do.  60 years ago he met a lovely lady and asked to her be his wife… and Lila Beth Davis said yes.  On December 24, 1957 he married the love of his life.  Jerrell & Lila were blessed with 2 children; Jerrell Ray Smith & his wife Dee Ann and Allison Gay Smith.  He enjoyed spending time with his 3 grandchildren; Jeremy Ray Smith, Travis Allen Meeks & Emily Rose Smith.  And his 1 great – grandson; Charlie Allen Meeks.  Jerrell has many other family members and a host of friends.  He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

In Jerrell’s spare time he enjoyed being outside enjoying the outdoors and telling stories about the good o’l days.  But mostly Jerrell cherished spending time with his family and friends.  He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great friend to many.

Jerrell is preceded in death by his parents, 2 of his brothers; Tom Billy Smith & Jackie Smith and his sister; Marie Lonsford.

Bro. Paul McKinney with the First Baptist Church in Eustace, Texas will be officiating for the Smith family.
