Janet Kaye Dunlap

November 25, 1949 — June 29, 2020

Janet Kaye Dunlap, 70, passed away on June 29, 2020.  She was born on November 25, 1949, in Hawkins, Texas, to the home of Travis Franklin and Emma Christine Woods.

Kay, as most people knew her, lived in Eustace, Texas, where she was very active in her children’s school activities, from coaching, cheering, volunteering, and baking for many a bake sale.  She kept busy raising her four children.  She decorated many a birthday and wedding cake through the years; she was even the cake decorator at Brookshires grocery store in Canton, Texas.  Her greatest joy came from spending time with friends and family.  She was a very social person and freely gave of her smile and love.  Many a kid over the years called her mom or granny.  She loved her children, but the smiles of joy grew    bigger with each grandbaby and great-grandbaby.  She even loved her fur grandbabies.  When she wasn’t loving on family, she loved to read, do puzzle books, color on her phone, and watch British TV shows.  Her children always knew that when they flew from the nest, their momma bird was waiting to catch them if their wings ever failed them.  Her smiles, hugs, and    unconditional love will be greatly missed.

Janet is survived by her children Sherri Shinn and husband   Joseph, Paula Young and husband William, Katherine Moore and husband Anthony, and Joe Bradley Dunlap and wife   Amanda; five grandchildren Krystina Cook, William Travis Young, Miranda Morgan, Austin Dunlap, and Bella Dunlap; four great-grandchildren Damian Dunlap, Harley Cook, Loretta Cook, and Sandra Young; brothers Roger Woods and Mickey Woods and wife Carol; sisters Shirley Reville and husband Charles and Trellis Sims; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Joe Dunlap, and brother Ray Woods.
