James Roy Burroughs

James Roy Burroughs, 60, passed away on April 23, 2020.  He was born on January 15, 1960, in Rowlett, Texas.

“Jesse James,” as he liked to be called, had a reputation of being a “tough” man who, at times, was stubborn and hard to get along with.  But when you really got to know him, he had a heart of gold.  His work was mainly in construction, doing electrical, painting, and landscaping.  James was an animal lover, especially his pit bull.  He enjoyed spending time working around the farm.  He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his children Lyra Devion Burroughs, Michael James Burroughs, and Jeremy James Burroughs; mother Rose Burroughs; brothers Robert Lee Burroughs, and Floyd Dwayne Burroughs and wife Brandi; sister Francina Shough and husband John Maness; nieces Melissa, Rosy, Heather, and Jessica, nephews Donald, Robert Lee II, Harold, Travis, Joshua, Brent, Jason, Josh, Patrick, and Matthew; great-nieces Lynnlee, Braelee, Charlotte, and Gracie; and great-nephews Devion, Kadance and Gunner.

James is preceded in death by his father Jimmy Dick Edwards, as well as numerous other relatives.
