James Lynn "J.L." Adams Jr. was born in Dallas, TX. July 6, 1987 to Jimmy and Mary Adams passed away in Tyler, TX October 26, 2008 at the age of 21 years. His loving mother Mary Fay Cochran Adams preceded him in death. His loving father James Lynn Adams Sr., sister Amy Lynn Adams, grandparents Janet Conerly, James and Lois Adams, Charles and Bobbie Cochran, aunts and uncles Vicki and Danny Adams, Chuck and Debbie Cochran, Darlene Anthony, Judy and Simon Horn, nephews Kareem Price and Darrell Price, great grandparents and many other loved ones survive him. J.L. was a happy, loving child whose best friend growing up was his sister, Amy Lynn. She watched over and loved him as only a big sister can do. J.L. was born with Muscular Dystrophy and was cared for by his family until his mother was unable to provide that care, because she too, suffered from Muscular Dystrophy. In 2001 J.L. went to live at the Truman Smith Children's Care Center in Gladewater, TX. His favorite thing to do was watch The Jungle Book. He watched the movie so many times he wore out several copies and a T.V. He also enjoyed anything showing Scooby Doo. At Truman Smith, its wonderful and compassionate staff cared for J.L. All of the staff loved him, as he was one of their own children. They enabled him to go to school and learn with other children. Our family will never be able to thank the staff at Truman Smith for everything they did for J.L. We appreciate the support and love they gave us these seven years. We also appreciate the staff at Hospice Of East Texas in Tyler, TX. for their compassion and loving care of J.L. during his last few days. All of you are truly God's angles on this earth. We know that Momma greeted him at heaven's gate. Now he can run, play and do all of the things he was never able to do here on earth. Funeral services were held Wednesday October 29, 2008 at the Moorhead-Epps Funeral Home in Gun Barrel City, Texas. For an on line condolence go to moorheadepps.com.
