Herschel Beaty

Herschel T. Beaty, 78 an only child was born July 24, 1934 in Lubbock, Texas and passed away July 16, 2012 just short of his 78th birthday. His long battle with Parkinson's, complicated by heart problems have come to a conclusion. He was loved by everyone who knew him and will be missed. Herschel owned many automobile dealerships throughout his career, including locations in Dallas, Abilene, Midland, Houston, Beaumont, Lufkin, and New Mexico. He retired from Mack Trucks in 1997. He is survived by his wife Glenda Beaty of Gun Barrel City, his son Ben Beaty, daughter-in-law Michelle, two grandchildren Alexander and Lauren all of Houston, TX., step-daughter Connie Webster of North Dakota, step-granddaughter Holley Miller of Fort Worth adopted daughter Julia Wissing, special nieces Dianne Medlyn, Karen Havens, and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Herschel A. and Mena Thomas Beaty of Lubbock, Texas. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the Parkinson's Research Foundation or the Heart Association. Local arrangements are under the direction of Moorhead Epps Funeral Home in Gun Barrel City.
