Herbie Mackey

Herbie Mackey, 57, passed away on August 18, 2023, in Gun Barrel City, Texas. He was born on November 20, 1965 in Dallas Texas, to parents Sidney and Della (Watkins) Mackey. 

Herbie was one of a kind, the kind you would call the life of the party. His laugh was infectious– one that would jiggle his belly every time. If you weren’t laughing with him, you were definitely laughing at him.

Herbie was a loving father, son and most of all Pop! He never missed an opportunity to spend time with his grandchildren. His favorite time was cruising on his lawnmower with a grand baby on his lap. He enjoyed  working in his yard, building things, listening to his rock music, and watching the Dallas Cowboys.

Herbie is preceded in death by his grandparents, Nanny and PaPa Watkins, and uncle, Richard Watkins.

Herbie is survived by his mother, Faye Bales; daughter, Heather Byars and spouse Jordan; son, Wesley Palmer and spouse     Chantel; daughter, Jennifer Dawson and spouse Taylor; son, Michael Gray; 13 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson, brother, Chad Coulter and spouse Debi; brother, Jimmy Parker and spouse Heather; aunt, Jackie Baker; uncle, Robert Watkins and  spouse Judy; numerous nieces, nephews, family, friends, and loved ones.
