Henry Wayne Smith

Henry Wayne Smith, 81, of Athens, Texas went home to Our Lord on December 3, 2017.  Wayne was born on August 29, 1936 in Memphis, Texas to Henry and Elvada Smith.  He was a retired mechanic and was a happy as long as he had grease under his fingernails.  He raised his sons to be honest and hardworking men.  His hobbies were raising small farm animals, fishing and turkey shoots.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Aline Smith; his three sons – Johnny Smith & his wife Vickie of Hemphill, Texas, Billy Smith & his wife Junella of Tool, Texas and Gary Smith & his wife Becki of Eustace, Texas; five grandchildren; John Smith, Danny Smith, Shelby Johnson, Becky Wood and Jeff Smith and spouses; twenty great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; brother James Smith & wife his wife Avis of Spring Lake, Texas; Bob Smith & his wife Peggy of Possum Kingdom, Texas; sister Jackie Gerish & her husband Dorman of Hurst, Texas and many other loved ones.

Proceeding him to Our Lord, his parents, his beloved granddaughter Angela Richardson; brothers Lefty, Rufus and Edward; and sisters Willie May and Bernice.
