Helen Boykin was born on March 10, 1938, in Greenville, TX to Maurine Poe and George Childers. Helen passed away with close family beside her on March 9, 2025.

Helen married her husband Charles Lester Boykin on November 1, 1952. She enjoyed planting and gardening and living life on the lake with her son where she has spent the last 30 years. Helen (Nanny) loved spending time with her family, and especially loved playing with all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Helen is preceded in death by her mother and father, Maurine and George Childers; her sisters, Margie, Edna, Cora, Laura, and Linda; her brother, George; her daughter, Sara; and granddaughter, Catherine.

Helen is survived by her son, Randall Boykin of Eustace; brother and sister-in-law Bud and Sandy Childers of Savoy; brother and sister-in-law, Troy and Rebecca Childers of Caddo Mills; grandson, Michael Boykin of Peaster; granddaughter, Christina and husband Aaron Silva of Winlock, Washington; grandson, Charles Coulter and wife Melissa of Cross Roads; great-grandchildren, Samantha, Skyler, Cadence, Bryson, Kaylor, Bowen, River, four great-great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews, friends and neighbors that were more like family.

The visitation will be held Thursday, March 13, 2025, from 9:00 - 10:00 AM at Moorhead Funeral Home in Gun Barrel City, Texas with the funeral right after at 10:00 AM. Graveside services will follow at Donelton Cemetery in Lone Oak, Texas.

Pallbearers are Charles Coulter, Aaron Groves, Aaron Silva, Damion Allen, Weston Wiggins, and Colton Wiggins.

Honorary pallbearers are David Webb and Michael Boykin.
