Guadalupe "Lupe" Garza, age 74, passed away on March 3, 2025, in Gun Barrel City, Texas. He was born on April 17, 1950, in Cruillas, Tamaulipas, Mexico to parents Alfredo Robles and Petra (Perez) Garza.
Lupe began his journey as a farmer, cultivating not only the land but also valuable lessons in hard work and resilience. His early years shaped a strong foundation that would later blossom into a fulfilling career as a chef at the Lake Wood Country Club in Dallas, Texas and at Cedar Creek Country Club in Kemp, Texas.
Beyond his professional pursuits, Lupe found immense delight in life's simple pleasures. He cherished the moments spent fishing, camping, carving watermelons, and cooking out with friends and loved ones. A big fan of the Texas Rangers, Lupe found joy in the thrilling moments of the game, sharing them with those close to him.
Known for his gentle demeanor and sweet soul, Lupe was a man of God whose presence radiated love and support. His kind heart was a beacon for many, as he was always willing to lend a helping hand. Friends and family alike will remember his propensity for storytelling, as he delighted in weaving tales that captivated and entertained.
Lupe's proudest accomplishment was celebrating over 50 years of sobriety, a testament to his strength and determination. It was this same determination that defined his character throughout his life, always pushing him to be the very best version of himself. Lupe was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. He will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
Guadalupe is preceded in death by his parents, Alfredo and Petra Garza; four sisters, one brother, one daughter, one grandson, one daughter-in-law, one great-nephew, and two great-nieces.
Guadalupe is survived by his wife Roslyn Garza; children, Rose Marie and Manuel Alvarado; Juan and Martha Isaac; Placido Isaac; Maria and Ricky Garcia; George Garza; Wyvonne and John Barton; Jaime Moreno; Anthony and Monica Braddy; Shane Braddy; twenty-five grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
