George Bennett Cornue was born on August 27, 1946, in Cushing, Oklahoma, to the late George (Jake) Cornue and Viola (Morton) Cornue. He left this earth on July 29, 2021, in Kemp, Texas, at the age of 74 years old.
George served our country in the United States Air Force during the years 1966-1969. He was a member of Rockin Country Church in Kemp, Texas, and served 10 plus years with the Seven Points Volunteer Fire Department. George was a “happy, go-lucky” man who loved life and liked to have fun. He was quite the jokester. He liked to “piddle” around the house and drive his wife, Myra, crazy. George loved his family and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Peggy Sloan.
He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Myra Cornue; son Steve Cornue and wife Susan from Haltom City, Texas; daughters Tracy Cornue Hernandez from Greenville, Texas, Rhonda McCutchen and husband Joseph from Anna, Texas, and Malissa McMahon and husband Robert from Cedar Hill, Texas. He was loved by his eight grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; niece Angela Jordan and husband Michael and their two sons; and many extended family and friends.
The Cornue family would like to give thanks to our extended family A.J. and Shirley Kirksey.
Pastor David Woodham with Rockin Country Church in Kemp, Texas, will officiate for the Cornue family.
