Gene Baker

Gene Ray Baker Sr. 71, born February 17, 1939 in Collin County Texas to the home of Lewis Allen Baker and Virgie Rae Doyle Baker passed away at his home in Gun Barrel City March 22, 2010 with his family at his side. He was an Aerospace Technician at Texas Instruments of Dallas, TX. retiring in 1992, was a an engineer of oil well drilling equipment for Dresser Industries and Drill Quip of Houston, TX. retiring in 2008 as a quality control technician. Gene loved all sports especially if it required a ball or fast car to play. Often armed with a remote control in his hand he would surf channels watching more than one game at a time. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 45 years Jacquelyn Watkins Baker, daughters Tammy Frisbie of Coppell, TX. Tonya Baker of Forman, Arkansas, Angel Baker, of Gun Barrel City, sons Rodney Baker and his wife Melanie of Leonard, TX. Chris Baker and his wife Christina if Gun Barrel City, TX., Jeff Baker of Spring, TX. Chad Coulter Baker and his wife Debbie of Keller, TX. uncle Jerry Baker of Grand Prairie, TX, brothers in law Richard "Ricky" Watkins, of Gun Barrel City, TX. Robert Watkins and his wife Judy of Kemp, TX. sister in law Faye Bales of Gun Barrel City, TX., best friend for 52 years Royce Tippet, 17 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, numerous cousins, nieces nephews, other loving family members and a host of friends. Father Lewis Allen Baker, mother Virgie Rae Baker, son Gene Ray Baker Jr. Father in law Cecil Watkins, mother in law Mary Watkins, brother in law Herbie Gallegos, sister in law Jan Gallegos, all precede Gene in death. Funeral services were Wednesday March 24, with Barry Boatwright officiating. Burial was at the Hope Well Cemetery in Winnsboro, TX. under the direction of Moorhead Epps Funeral of Gun Barrel City.
