Gary Eldred Able, age 76, passed away on November 25, 2024, at his home in Tool, Texas. He was born on March 25, 1948, to parents Nevel and Helen (Martin) Able.
Gary graduated from Polytechnic High School, where he laid the foundation for a life marked by simple pleasures. In his younger days, he found joy in the company of friends while playing pool and cards, reveling in the laughter and camaraderie that these games brought. Gary was known for his unwavering care for his parents in their later years as they faced the challenges of aging and illness.
As time went on, Gary discovered a passion for gardening. His yard was always well-kept and manicured. Gary enjoyed his lake community. He served on the Cedarcrest Shores POA for many years. He was always one of the first to raise a hand and volunteer for workdays, repairs on our launch and swimming area or organizing crews for events like neighborhood cleanup and setting up lunch for our annual meeting.
Gary's legacy is one of kindness and dedication to those he loved. He will be remembered not just for his hobbies and interests, but for the warmth and support he provided to family and friends throughout his life.
Gary is preceded in death by his parents, Nevel Eldred and Helen Marie (Martin) Able; and sister, Regina Kaye (Anderson Able) Leck.
Gary is survived by niece, Jami (Anderson) Murray and husband David Murray; Niece, Jodi (Anderson) White; great nieces, Bailey Murray, Brooke White, and Kailey White. Great nephew, Colton White.
