Freddie Wayne Langford, 72, of Mabank, Texas, passed away on Monday, March 8, 2021. Fred was born in Seymour, Texas, on September 20, 1948. He married his best friend and absolute love of his life Glennes Langford on May 30, 1967. They were married for 51 years.
Fred was highly respected in the commercial construction industry and worked as a senior project manager, chief estimator, and vice president of operations at J.P. Barry. Fred and Glennes moved their family to Cedar Creek Lake in 1985, where they became a huge part of the community. He was very involved in all of his sons’ extra curriculars and sports and eventually became the Booster Club President of Mabank High School. He retired in his 50’s to be a full-time Gpa and gardener for Glennes. Fred enjoyed water volleyball, boating, swimming, and skiing with his wife, children, and multitude of friends. Their lake house (aka Langford Lodge) later became the go-to spot for all of his sons’ friends and eventually grandchildren. Fred was a devoted husband, father, brother, Gpa, uncle, and friend. He was a proud Navy Veteran who served in the Vietnam War.
Fred was preceded in death by his wife, Glennes Langford, parents, Alton and Bonnie Langford, father-in-law JT Wilkinson, and mother-in-law Vera Wilkinson.
Fred is survived by his brother Lowell and wife Carolyn Langford of Abbott. Children, Jason & Melannie Langford of Mabank, Kevin & Summer Langford of Mabank, Adam & Michelle Langford of Mabank, grandchildren Tuesday, Gavyn, Trinity, Kirstyn, Kail, Wayne, Olivia, Krew, Abel, Blake, Kobey, and great-grandchild Opie, as well as his nieces Angie, Bonnie, Teresa, Amy, their spouses and children.
