Foster Jack Busby

Foster Jack Busby, 84, passed away on March 21, 2023, in Mabank, TX. He was born on July 16, 1938, in Lawrenceburg, TN to parents Jesse and Alma (Crews) Busby.

Funeral service for Foster J. Busby, age 84, of Kemp will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 28, 2023, at Moorhead Funeral Home with DR. Jonathan Lilley officiating. A brief graveside service will be held at King Cemetery following. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, March 27, 2023, at Moorhead Funeral Home. Mr. Busby passed away on Tuesday, March 21, 2023, at Mabank Nursing Center, Mabank, Texas.

Foster was born on July 16, 1938, in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, to Jessie Clarence Busby, Sr. and wife, Alma.  He served two years in the U.S. Army in the early 1960s before moving to Texas. Foster married Linda Eileen (Milligan) Busby on June 28, 1963. He was janitor and groundskeeper at Calvary Baptist Church in Kemp for more than 20 years, and previously worked at Kemp ISD, the U.S. Postal Service, as a realtor, and as a homebuilder.

Foster was preceded in death by his parents, Jessie and Alma; wife, Eileen; daughter, Kimberly Carter; sisters, Frances Richardson and Dorothy Hollis; and brothers, Marvin Busby and Robert Busby.

He is survived by his daughter, Pam Rowell of Gun Barrel City; son, Keith Busby of Kemp; granddaughter, Sarah Perkins and husband, Kevin of Houston; granddaughter, Rebekah Hartman and husband, Greg of Arlington; grandchildren, Charlotte Hartman, Gideon Hartman, Adalynn Hartman, and Emory Perkins; brother, Jessie Clarence Busby, Jr. and wife of Tennessee; and numerous nieces and nephews.
