Flossie Odessa Wertz, 68, passed away on May 2, 2022. She was born on June 15, 1953, in Red River County, Texas, to parents Arthur Kelley and Essie May Fisher Kelley.
“It's going to be a beautiful day.” That was something Flossie always said and that was one of her final words. She was ready to spread her wings, and our hearts weren't ready. She walked through life with grace and had a family that adored her. She always put her family and other needs before her own. Did I mention the wonderful memories she blessed our family with? Those memories included tickling her grandkids’ toes, newspaper play fights with her kids, and she gave meaningful hugs and tons of laughter. Her company made a Monday feel like a Friday. Flossie was the type of person who loved with all of her heart, and she was always taking care of other people. She will be missed dearly. Flossie was the best mother, grandmother, and an amazing person. She is in heaven and enjoying beautiful days to come, resting in peace.
Flossie is survived by children Teffiny Wertz, Kimberly Bryant and husband Tracy, James Wertz and wife Rhonda, and Roger Foster and wife Lacey; grandchildren Zachary Odom, Chaz Odom, Justin Wertz, Dylan Wertz, Ryleigh Compton, Byron Foster, Aislin Foster, and Rosalee Foster; great-grandchildren Bentlee Ryan Odom, Kaylee Grace Odom, William Aguado, and Carmen Elaine Wertz; brother D.C. Kelley; and sister Pearlann Kelley.
She is preceded in death by her parents Arthur and Essie Kelley, her husband of 34 years Michael Lee Wertz, son Roy Lee Dean Mitchell, and daughter Laura Lee Lacy.
