Evelyn Loyd

Evelyn Mary Loyd, lovingly remembered for her kind and welcoming nature, her great sense of humor, and her love for life, passed away on August 5, 2024, in Mabank, Texas. She was surrounded by her family as she peacefully transitioned from this life.

 Born on July 23, 1938, in Wichita, Kansas, Evelyn brought immense joy and warmth to all those around her throughout her remarkable life. She was known for her exceptional artistic skills and was admired for her strong faith in God.

 Evelyn is survived by her beloved husband Samuel F. Loyd, and her cherished children Douglas Loyd and Kathleen Holbert (spouse – Johnny). Her legacy continues through her grandchildren Haylie Reynolds (spouse – Aaron), and Jeffrey Holbert. She also leaves behind great-grandchildren Wyatt Reynolds, Ryder Reynolds, Mayslie Reynolds, and Miranda Reynolds.

 She is predeceased by her father Lester C. O'Dell, mother Mary Margaret Frizelle, and brother James O'Dell. Evelyn's presence in their lives will be deeply missed but her memory will forever be treasured.

 Family and friends are invited to pay their respects and celebrate Evelyn's life at the visitation service on Monday, August 12, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Moorhead Funeral Home in Gun Barrel City, Texas. The funeral service will directly follow at the same location from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM.

 In honor of Evelyn's compassionate spirit and loving nature, let us remember the joy she brought into our lives. May she rest in eternal peace as we hold onto the memories that will continue to inspire us all.
