Elizabeth Odella Johnson, 76, passed away on September 30, 2024, in Mabank, Texas. She was born on September 4, 1948, in Dallas, Texas to Robert O'Dell and Dorothy Elizabeth (Bailey) Hardin.

Known for her fiery spirit and red hair, Della was a loving individual who touched the lives of many with her generosity. Della devoted 15 years of her career to Sealand in Dallas, Texas, where she worked in freight scheduling. She then transitioned to Walmart, where she spent 25 years as an associate, and later lent her warm presence to the front desk at Gun Barrel City emergency room. Her hard work and dedication were hallmarks of her professional life, and she formed many lasting friendships along the way.

Della’s educational background included an associate’s degree in medical billing and coding, which underscored her commitment to learning and personal growth. She was not only a hard worker but also a devoted animal lover, often engaging in animal rescue efforts.

In her free time, Della found joy in crafting, exploring flea markets, and hunting down treasures at garage sales. She loved bright, colorful flowers, such as sunflowers. Butterflies also held a special place in her heart, symbolizing the beauty and brightness she brought into the lives of those around her.

Della is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Dorothy Hardin; husband, Earl Key; son, Jack Wheeler; and brother, James Hardin.

Della is survived by her son, Gene Olsen and wife Alicia of Mabank, Texas; sister-in-law, Mardy of Mabank, Texas; grandson, Carson Olsen of Mabank, Texas; grandson, Terry Olsen, and numerous other family, friends, and loved ones.
