Donald Millet

Donald Millet, 91, was born on August 8, 1922 in Schenectady, NY to the home of William F. Millett and Barbara Schaff Millett and passed away January 10, 2014 in Kaufman with his family by his side. Left to cherish his memory are his children, Donald Anthony Millett Jr. and his wife Kathryn and Mary Meda Millett Shafer, 5 grandchildren, 5 greatgrandchildren, other family members and many friends. Donald had lived in Odessa, Texas from 1952 to 2007. He was an oilfield worker for Phillips Petroleum Company and retired with them after 34 years. He was a WWII veteran with the Navy. He served at the Normandy and Sicily invasions. He was on a destroyer that was torpedoed with the ARF blow up and was able to stay afloat until reaching dry dock, with all men on board continuously bailing out of the sea.
