David Vincent Schaffer of Mabank, Texas passed away on August 29, 2017 in Tyler, Texas. He was born February 6, 1959 in Denver, Colorado to Ray Frank & Hessie Mae Lewing Schaffer. David grew up in a loving home with 2 sisters, 1 brother; Glenna Myers & her husband Jimmy, Sally Johnson & her husband Terry and a brother Joe Schaffer.
David graduated Irving High School in 1978. He also attended Wielding school and graduated with certification in Wielding in 1978. He was an excellent wielder and sought after for his experience and my certification in wielding different types of material. David worked for many years all over the country in this profession. In David’s spare time he enjoyed being outside enjoying the fresh air, cooking his famous BBQ so that he could share it with all his neighbors, drawing art pieces for tattoos and watching TV. When you would come over to see David, he always had a joke or two for you to giggle about. He loved to make everyone laugh and smile. David had a huge soft spot in his heart for children; he especially cherished his time with his nieces and nephews. Spending time with all of his family and friends is what truly made his heart smile. He faced many trials in his life, but always had a kind heart and giving nature. He will be dearly missed by his family and all who knew him.
David is preceded in death by his parents.
Rev. Jason Lewing will be officiating for the Schaffer family.
