David Allan Evartt, 17, passed away on November 29, 2020, at 6:50 p.m. at Methodist Dallas Hospital, surrounded by family. He was born on November12, 2003, in Wichita Falls, Texas.
David was a Sophomore at Kemp High School; he lived all his life with his grandmother and sister in Styx, Texas. He was always outdoors, whether it was hot or cold out. He loved shooting hoops, whether it be out in his front yard at home or with his cousins. He also enjoyed getting together with his cousins and playing video games. David was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan; when his Cowboys were playing on TV, you couldn’t get him to do anything until the game was over! He enjoyed his culinary arts class and was helpful to his teacher, helping her unload groceries for class. He started to excel in his math class; his math teacher said he was picking it up so well and quickly that he could almost teach the class. He started taking a couple of welding classes and seemed to be enjoying it; he told his grandmother he might pursue a career in that field. David was also a big jokester and loved playing pranks, jokes, and scaring his grandma.
David was preceded in death by his uncle Philip Jennings of Styx, Texas.
He is survived by his grandmother Linda Foisey of Styx, Texas; mother Melissa Newkirk; sister Clarissa Evartt of Kemp, Texas; brother Thomas Wikel of Wichita Falls, Texas; aunts and uncles Allen Newkirk and Nichole Johnson of Gun Barrel City, Texas, Sara and George Hensel of Gun Barrel City, Texas, Charles and Laci Newkirk of Eustace, Texas, Kaytee Lopez of Gun Barrel City, Texas, and Barbara Jennings of Styx, Texas; and a slew of cousins!
And in memory of his love of the Dallas Cowboys, if you would like to wear colors/jerseys to show your support, you are more than welcome to, but it’s not required.
