Curtis Melton Knox, 80, passed away on September 15, 2021. He was born on February 22, 1941, in Hanna, Oklahoma, to parents Edgar L. and Venita J. Knox.
He is a US Army Veteran and achieved recognition as a top Army marksman in 1962. He qualified for the expert marksmanship badge during range firing with the Army’s new M-14 rifle in Germany. He loved to fish, and any chance he had, he loaded up and headed out fishing. He was one of a kind. Curtis loved his family and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Faye Knox; daughter Felicia Janicke and husband Scott; son Bobby Knox; grandchildren Alicia Burton and husband Ash, Cory Janicke and wife Rubi, Andrew Knox, Bobby Knox II, Aubree Knox, and Brayden Knox; great-grandchildren Haley Burton, Haydn Burton, Greyson Janicke, Triston Knox, and Dawson Knox; sisters Dorotha Duke and Frances Byrd.
Curtis is preceded in death by parents Edgar L. Knox and Venita J. Knox; J.W. Knox, Thelmer Knox, Margie Knox, Ramona Faye Parks, Edward (Pete) Knox, Willa Jo Walls, and Ronald Knox.
