Corrine S. Allen, 86, of Gun Barrel City, Texas, passed away peacefully at her home on July 18, 2012. A prayer service vigil will be held on Friday, July 20, 2012 at 6:00 pm at the Moorhead-Epps Funeral Home in Gun Barrel City. A funeral mass will be held at St. Jude Catholic Church in Gun Barrel City on Saturday, July 21, 2012 beginning at 11:00 am, with the burial service at 3:00 pm at Calvary Hill Cemetery in Dallas, Texas.
Corrine was born June 11, 1926, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to Walter and Genevieve (Reifenberger) Sodeman. She and her husband of 43 years, William B. Allen, moved to the Cedar Creek Lake in 2003 after 38 years living in Dallas' White Rock Lake area. She enjoyed quilting, crossword puzzles, baking, and making homemade jelly.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her infant son Robert Michael Allen, her brother Walter Sodeman, and her sister Joan Rudolph. She is survived by stepsons, Bruce Allen of Hamilton, MT, and Thomas Allen of San Diego, CA, and stepdaughters, Barbara Schumaker of Hamilton, MT, Deborah Keel of Gilmer, TX, Marjorie Burnett of Reno, NV, and Rocky Freund of Corpus Christi, TX. She is also survived by siblings, Virginia Michelizzi of Duluth, MN, Genevieve Callejo of San Francisco, CA, Paul Sodeman of San Diego, CA, and James Sodeman of Duluth, MN, six granddaughters, three grandsons, two great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
