Charles Albert Marshall

June 19, 1923 — November 9, 2020

Late in the evening of November 9, 2020, Charles A. Marshall went to his eternal home.  He was born on June 19, 1923, to John William Marshall and Maude Pearl Marshall.

On April 20, 1946, he married the love of his life, Ruby Winnelle Bowles.  He worked for Dow Chemical Company for 31 years.  Charles was a faithful Christian his entire life and served as a Deacon for many years at the First Baptist Church in Clute, Texas, as well as the Missionary Baptist Church in Gun Barrel City, Texas.  He served the church until his health would not allow him.  Charles had many titles in his life on earth, but his favorite was Papa.

He is survived by his wife of 74 years; children Charles L. and Kimber Marshall of Missouri City, Texas, Connie and Jim Wood of Gun Barrel City Texas, Carol and Ken Whitehead of Greenville, Texas, and Brenda and Wes Henson of Winnsboro, Texas; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Charles is preceded in death by his parents; daughter Cathy Marshall; granddaughter Jamie Wood; brother John Marshall; and sisters Ruby Glover, Minnie Mobley and Ruth Carpenter.

He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
