Charles Waydean Tillman, 87, passed away on September 8, 2021, at home after a battle with cancer. He was born on April 19, 1934, in Jacksonville, Texas, to parents Virgil Butler and Rhoda Frances Tillman.
Charles served in the US Navy from 1953 to 1962, and served aboard the USS Haynesworth during the end of the Korean War. He enjoyed fishing, watching football and baseball, and working with his hands. He could often be found in his workshop doing woodworking and tinkering with odds and ends. He was a member of Payne Springs Baptist Church along with his wife Ruth. Charles and Ruth loved to travel together and have been across much of the western US during their time together. He loved his family and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Charles is survived by Ruth Green Tillman, his wife of 10 years; children Lloyd Tillman and wife Rhonda, Bobby Blankenship, Debra Blankenship-White, Patric Green and Jeffrey Green; grandson Everett Tillman and four others; and three great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents; sister Martha Lee Fisher; and son Ronnie Green.
