Catherine Ruth Bonds Rhodes was born on June 17th 1950 in Pineville Louisiana to Eddie Ray Bonds and Ellen Catherine O'Neal Bonds. Catherine passed away on October 20th 2013, peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family after having fought a courageous battle with breast cancer. Catherine grew up in Shreveport Louisiana where she eventually met the love of her life, Charles Ross Rhodes (Dusty). Cathy and Dusty started their family in Shreveport Louisiana. Cathy and Dusty eventually relocated to Friendswood Texas with their three daughters; Shanon, Kristi, and Kerry. Cathy spent the last years of her life in Gun Barrel City, Texas. Cathy was a devoted follower of Christ and lived her life selflessly, serving her family. Cathy loved to dance with her grandchildren. Cathy had a love of horses, dogs, and babies. Some of her joys in life were gardening, home decorating, and sharing the Word. Cathy was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Kenneth O'Neal Bonds. Cathy is survived by her husband, Charles Ross Rhodes. Her daughters; Shanon Darlene Rhodes Grandstaff and husband Derrick of Athens Texas, Kristi Leigh Rhodes Delagarza and husband Phillip of Friendswood Texas, and Kerry Ellen Rhodes of Gun Barrel City. Siblings; Ginger Brooks and husband Alton of Alexandria Louisiana, Walter Ray Bonds and wife Sharon of Lawrenceville Georgia, Barbara Kay Bonds Ingram and husband Ricky of Waskom Texas, Eva Marie Bonds Thompson and husband Clifton of Vivian Louisiana. Grandchildren; Kayla Darlene, Laura Michelle, and Sarah Grace. Great grandchild Gabriel Ross. As well as numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Billy Scriber, David Rhodes, Clifton Thompson, Kevin Thompson, Brandon Thompson, and Tyler Thompson. Visitation will be on Thursday, October 24th 2013 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Rose-Neath Funeral Home located at 405 E 5th Street, Homer Louisiana 71040. 318-927-6110. The funeral services will be held on Friday, October 25th 2013 at 11:00 AM. The location of the services will be at Sharon Baptist Church, 2769 Louisiana Hwy 152, Dubach Louisiana 71235.
