Bonnie Jean Droke, 64, of Gun Barrel City, Texas, died early Saturday morning December 18, 2021, peacefully in her sleep at home, after a four-year battle with breast cancer. Bonnie was born on July 17, 1957, in Chicago, IL, to parents James Andrew Mauldin and Janet Smith Mauldin.
Bonnie loved to teach children in Sunday school. She enjoyed cooking, making crafts, and spending time with her kids and grandkids. Her favorite movie series was Twilight. When she was able, she liked working in the yard and walking. She just loved life and taking care of other people. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She leaves behind her husband of 48 years, Steve Droke, Sr.; two sons Stevie Droke, Jr. and wife Ginger (Smith) Droke, and Joseph Droke and wife Tiffany (Clowdus) Droke; one daughter Jennifer Droke, all of Gun Barrel City; eight grandchildren Tyler Crum, Alexis Droke, Christian Droke, Skylar Droke, Catelynn Droke, Ashley Smith, Ashton Smith, Kirstie Smith; four great-grandchildren; two brothers James Mauldin of Ripley, TN, and Lee Mauldin of OK; three sisters Edie Parker of Ripley, TN, Brenda Riley of Ripley, TN, and Margaret Beard of Ripley, TN; and several nieces and nephews.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her father James A. Mauldin, and mother Janett Mauldin, both of Ripley, TN.
