Acie Lynn Mitchell, 77, of Mabank, Texas passed away on August 7, 2019 at his home. He was born on August 8, 1941 in Apple Springs, Texas to the home of Alonzo Clifford and Clara Roach Mitchell.
He grew up in Houston, Texas, and graduated from Sam Houston State University in 1966 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Economics.
Acie began working at Taylor Publishing Company in Dallas, Texas selling yearbooks. He later worked in the oil and natural gas industry for Titus Reources where he sold mineral right leases and became a top leader in sales.
Acie moved with his wife “KK” from Frisco to the Pinnacle Club, and has lived on the lake for the past 15 years. He loved living on the lake and enjoyed all water sports associated with the lake. He was also a hot air balloon pilot, fixed wing pilot, and a championship cutting horse rider. He had a USCG Captain’s license and piloted his own yacht. He is a past Rotarian as well as a member of the First Baptist Church of Malakoff.
Acie is survived by his wife of 37 years, Kay “KK”; brother-in-law Sam Fitzpatrick of Johnson City, TN; many nieces, nephews, and devoted friend Kevin Thompson. He will be missed by all who knew him.
